PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — Three women stole a custom wig worth almost $1,500 from a Flatbush Avenue hair salon — and then got busted when they returned to the salon while police were taking a crime report.

The women, ages 17, 19, and 22, first entered the shop at 737 Flatbush Ave. near Clarkson Avenue around 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 and started asking about prices and picking up merchandise to buy, workers at the salon told police.

While the workers were occupied with two of the women, the third snatched a custom wig worth $1,470 off a mannequin and fled the store, followed by her accomplices.

The group got away, but were later arrested when they returned to the salon at the same time NYPD officers were taking a report about the theft with the workers. The three wig-snatchers were taken into custody outside the shop.

All three women have been charged with grand larceny, a felony, court records show.
