
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A $500 wedding ring, credit cards and electronics were swiped at Brooklyn Bridge Park on three different days last week — continuing a string of thefts that have occurred near the park's sports venues.
The first of the most recent incidents took place Sept. 20 at about 7 p.m. while a 41-year-old man was playing volleyball at Pier 6, according to the police report.
When he returned, his bag was missing. The stolen property includes a wedding ring worth $500, a $3,000 MacBook Pro, a cellphone, clothes, credit cards, headphones, $200 in cash and a pocketknife.
Two days later on Sept. 22, a 26-year-old man was playing soccer on Pier 5 when his iPhone 6S and wallet were taken from a bag between about 9 and 11:10 p.m, police said.
The next evening on Sept. 23, a 21-year-old man left his black Adidas bag unattended while playing soccer at Pier 6, according to the report. When he returned, the bag was missing, along with a $250 cellphone, a debit card, a driver's license and a college ID, police said.
Other notable crimes from the 84th Precinct, according to police, include:
► More than $1,500 worth of medication and Gillette razors were swiped from a CVS at 156 Henry St. in Brooklyn Heights, according to police. A man walked into the store on Sept. 25 at about 1:50 p.m. and walked out a few minutes later with a bag of stolen property.
