BROOKLYN — Backpacks, electronics and a pricey bicycle were stolen from basketball and soccer players at Brooklyn Bridge Park in three separate incidents last week, police said.
The first theft took place Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Pier 5 in the waterfront park, according to the police report.
Two men, 40 and 22, had left their bags unattended while playing soccer between 9 and about 9:30 p.m., but returned to find their property was missing, police said.
The stolen property, valued at $861, included debit and credit cards, cash, wallets, backpacks, keys and a MetroCard.
Two thefts then occurred over the weekend. On Saturday, Sept. 10, a 20-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man were playing basketball at Pier 2 and left their backpacks unattended on the court between 9:45 and 10:30 p.m., police said.
The bags were missing when they returned, along with two Samsung Galaxy cell phones, an HTC Desire 626, an Apple iPad Air, a Samsung smart watch, Nike shoes, miscellaneous clothes, a school ID, two driver licenses and cash.
The next day, a 24-year-old woman went to play soccer at Pier 5 after she locked her roommate's bicycle to a rack at the park, police said.
But some time between 5 and 6 p.m., the lock was clipped, and the Cannondale bicycle worth $1,300 was missing.
Other notable crimes in the 84th Precinct, according to police, include:
► A $17,000 Harley Davidson parked on Hicks Street near Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights went missing between 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 8, police said.
