QUEENS — Federal agents executed search warrants at the Long Island home of John Gotti’s daughter, Victoria, and a Queens auto parts shop operated by her three sons on Wednesday, DNAinfo New York has learned.
Agents from the Internal Revenue Service entered the sprawling Old Westbury home of Victoria Gotti that was featured in the popular reality show, “Growing Up Gotti,” which highlighted the life of the Dapper Don's eldest daughter and her then-teenaged sons.
Federal agents also hit the auto part store on Liberty Avenue near Sutphin Blvd. in Jamaica that was owned by her ex-husband, Carmine Agnello, before he went to prison for nine years on racketeering charges and then moved to Cleveland, where he re-married and was later arrested in a separate case.
Shortly after sunrise, the feds showed up at the two locations with warrants obtained by prosecutors in the Brooklyn U.S. Attorney’s office, law enforcement sources said.
It was unclear what prompted the search.
A spokesperson for the FBI's Eastern District declined to comment and a call to the IRS office in New York was not immediately returned.
“Growing Up Gotti” was the most popular reality show on cable television between 2004 and 2007 with millions of viewers following the exploits of the Gotti boys with their slicked-back hair, flashy garb and heavy New York accents.
Today’s law enforcement activity was the second taken against a Gotti family member in recent weeks.
He is the son of Victoria Gotti’s brother, Peter, and was picked up at their mother’s home in Howard Beach, where she had lived with the fabled one-time Mafia chieftain who died in 2002.
Not all the news recently involving the Gotti's has been troublesome. Victoria's brother, John "Junior" Gotti, has his life being made into a movie with John Travolta starring as his notorious dad and Travolta's wife, Kelly Preston, playing their mother, also named Victoria.
