MANHATTAN — A man wanted in a Christmas Day domestic violence shooting in Manhattan was shot in Pennsylvania Friday afternoon when he tried to run down two NYPD detectives and a group of local police who were trying to arrest him, sources told DNAinfo New York.

A source said the two detectives from the Manhattan Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit fired four times and local Allentown, Pennsylvania, police officers fired about 30 shots when they tried to stop the unidentified suspect as he sped at them.

Officials said the suspect, who was not named, was wanted for a Christmas Day shooting when he allegedly fired several shots at an ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend in her Manhattan apartment.

No details were immediately available on the Christmas shooting or Friday’s Pennsylvania incident.
