COLUMBIA STREET WATERFRONT DISTRICT — After a mechanical power failure forced Carla Hall's Southern Kitchen to close for weeks, the eatery is finally ready to reopen.

The restaurant from celebrity chef Carla Hall at 115 Columbia St. will open its doors with full service and regular hours Thursday, the eatery said in a Facebook post Monday evening. An informal event for locals will be held Wednesday.

"GOOD NEWS: After a mechanical electrical failure, we are excited to report a permanent fix is complete and we can resume business! We are anxious to share some southern food love to y'all," the post said.

Earlier this month, Carla Hall's Southern Kitchen announced that it would close until further notice because of "power related issues." The closure came only a couple of months after the restaurant's official opening in June.

The eatery was formerly home to Chef Andy Ricker's Whiskey Soda Lounge Ny, located across the street from Ricker's Pok Pok Ny.

The Sept. 1 reopening was first reported by Eater.

Kirsten Bischoff, an assistant to Hall, confirmed the news via email Tuesday.
