FAR ROCKAWAY — A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg Tuesday night a few hundred feet from the 101st Precinct, police said.
The victim was standing in front of an apartment building at 15-02 Mott Ave. just before 6:30 p.m. when he heard a few gunshots, according to police.
He then felt a pain and saw he was shot once in the left leg.
He was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition, police said. They didn't have information on a potential suspect.
The shots were fired less than 300 feet from the 101st Precinct stationhouse, which has seen a decrease in shootings this year compared with last year, statistics show.
There were eight shootings this year compared to 12 during the same time a year ago, a 33 percent decline.
