STATEN ISLAND — A man who killed his parents inside their Annadale home in 2010 was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday.

Eric Bellucci, 36, was sentenced by Judge William Garnett for fatally stabbing his mother Marian Bellucci, 56, and his father Arthur Bellucci, 61, District Attorney Michael McMahon said.

"The defendant committed a tragic and deeply disturbing act by brutally murdering both of his parents inside their home," McMahon said in a statement.

"A sentence of life in prison is certainly warranted given the horrific nature of Mr. Bellucci’s crimes."

Between Oct. 12 to Oct. 13, 2010, Bellucci cut and stabbed his mother Marian Bellucci nine times with a knife inside their 3 Poillon Ave. home, prosecutors said. Bellucci then cut and stabbed his father, Arthur Bellucci, 33 times.

After the murders, Bellucci fled to Tel Aviv, Israel, but was captured two days later trying to buy a plane ticket to China, prosecutors said.

He was extradited back to the United States and was initially deemed unfit to stand trial. Bellucci was later found mentally competent and arraigned on Aug. 15, 2012.

Last month, Bellucci was convicted of two counts of murder after a two-week jury trial.
