STATEN ISLAND — A man has been convicted of murdering his parents inside their Annadale home.

Eric Bellucci, 36, faces life in prison without parole after being convicted of fatally stabbing his mother Marian Bellucci, 56, and his father Arthur Bellucci, 61, in 2010 then fleeing to Israel, Staten Island District Attorney Michael McMahon said.

He was convicted Friday.

"The defendant in this case committed unspeakable acts by brutally murdering both his mother and father inside their home in Annadale," McMahon said in a statement.

"With this guilty conviction handed down from a jury of his peers, Mr. Bellucci will have to answer for his heinous crimes. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the victims’ other family members and friends, who are undoubtedly still grieving the loss of their loved ones."

Sometime between Oct. 12 and Oct. 13, 2010, Bellucci cut and stabbed Marian Bellucci nine times with a knife inside their Poillon Avenue home, McMahon said. Bellucci then cut and stabbed his father 33 times.

After the killings, Bellucci fled to Tel Aviv, Israel, but was captured two days later after he tried to buy a plane ticket to China, McMahon said.

He was returned to the United State and initially deemed unfit to stand trial. He was later found mentally competent and arraigned on Aug. 15, 2012.

After a two-week jury trial, Bellucci was convicted of two counts of murder in front of Judge William Garnett, McMahon said.

He's scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 2.
