FAR ROCKAWAY — A set of NYPD officers who helped a man propose to his girlfriend by pulling his car over in a fake traffic stop are now under review by the department, according to the NYPD Commissioner.

Police officers from the 101st Precinct in Far Rockaway pulled over Yehuda Coriat, 22, as he drove with his girlfriend, Sorah Oppen, 20, on Wednesday, according to the New York Post.

The officers pretended they needed to inspect the car over on suspicions of weapons and drugs, the Post reported.

According to video posted by JPupdates, Oppen got out of the car and spoke with officers for about a minute and a half before her boyfriend also got out of the car.

When he opened the trunk, he pulled out red and white heart balloons, a bouquet of flowers and a ring — and he got down on one knee to propose.

Oppen joked "Am I going to get arrested if I say no?" before saying yes.

The officers cheered and congratulated the couple in the video.

NYPD Commissioner William Bratton said Monday the incident is under review and will be referred to the proper unit for possible disciplinary action.

"That matter is being investigated currently by the precinct commander...so we'll see what the results of that investigation are as to what the circumstances were," Bratton said at an unrelated press conference Monday.

"Was it an on duty/off duty incident? Was department equipment involved? What was the origin of it? So we just don't have that information at this time," Bratton added. "They could face discipline if it was found that their behavior was inappropriate."

"We'll see where that investigation goes as it goes forward."

Coriat told the Post he became connected to the officers through a friend who volunteers with the Shomrim patrol in Borough Park — which is currently under investigation for bribery over NYPD gun permits.

The friend denied to the Post that the Shomrim was involved and told the paper he just walked into the precinct for assistance.
