THE BRONX — A drunk gunman shot the manager of a Bronx restaurant early Friday morning after being refused service, police said.

The alleged gunman walked into El Rey De Copas, located at 2712 White Plains Road in Allerton, around 1 a.m. Friday demanding a waitress serve him drinks, police said. When she refused, he began to harass the woman, who called over her manager to deal with the situation, according to police.

That's when police said the gunman shot the manager in the neck and chest, before fleeing the scene.

The 52-year-old manager, identified by the Daily News as El Rey De Copas co-owner Mario Ramirez, was taken to Jacobi Hospital and is listed in stable condition, police said.

Police on Saturday described the suspect as a 5-foot-8, 150-pound man with black hair, last seen wearing glasses, a grey jacket, dark pants and black dress shoes.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website, or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
