It's no surprise that Pokémon GO has taken over many New Yorkers' Lives. People are walking around at all hours of the day and night catching Pokémon, battling and making friends with neighbors that they had never spoken to before.

Events centered on catching and battling Pokémon are popping up all over the five boroughs. And with this being New York City, most of these events are turning into bar crawls.
► FROTH + Pokémon GO Bar Crawl
Where: Turntable5060 at 235 E. 4th St., East Village
When: Thursday, July 14 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
This crawl is sponsored by FROTH, an app that allows users to "unlock" free drinks and drink specials. Patrons will get free Pokémon merch at the first location, and then get a free round with the code "pokemon."
► Pokémon GO Bar Crawl Astoria
Where: Sweet Afton Bar, 30-09 34th St., Astoria
When: Saturday, July 16 at 1 p.m.
Any Queens residents who would rather avoid traveling to Brooklyn or Manhattan for the weekend can eat and drink (and battle!) their way through Astoria. Participating bars include Judy and Punch and Queens Comfort. RSVP on the group's Meetup page here.
► Pokémon GO Open Bar Catching Party
Where: Sweetwater Social, 643 Broadway
When: 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Sip some drinks with friends and take advantage of the lures that will be dropped at Sweetwater Social by InternBar. The underground lounge is also a right above a pokestop, making it convenient for getting everything you'll need to catch more Pokémon. Tickets can be bought online here. Walk-ins can pay $10 to get in if they use the codes Team Mystic, Team Instinct, or Team Valor at the door. Check the Facebook page for updates.
Where: Grill on the Hill at 1624 Amsterdam Ave., Harlem
When: Sunday, July 17 from 3 to 10 p.m.
Apart from being a great bar hop, this event is also a trivia night. The game starts at 7:15 and questions will be based off Pokémon facts. RSVP on the Facebook page and email TRIVIAFOOL@gmail.com for more details on the event.
Where: Begins in Barcade at 388 Union Ave., Williamsburg
When: Saturday, July 23 from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
