BROAD CHANNEL — Service on the A train was delayed during Monday evening's rush hour as police searched for a man jumping from track to track, according to the MTA.

The person jumped on the train tracks north of the Broad Channel station before 5:30 p.m., an MTA spokesman said,

A straphanger who was on the southbound platform told DNAinfo New York the man declared he was "going to kill somebody," before jumping from the track to catch onto another train.

An MTA spokesman said police were searching between the Broad Channel and Howard Beach stations to catch him.

Trains were being held at their stations for part of the evening commute. Some southbound trains were ending at Euclid Ave. and some northbound trains are ending at Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd., according to the MTA.

Trains resumed service with changes and delays around 6 p.m.

The NYPD did not have any immediate information about this incident.
