CRIME BLOTTER: Mother and Son Woken by Bullets From Clarkson Ave. Shooting

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — Two bullets from a shooting on Clarkson Avenue woke a woman and her sleeping son last week when they broke a window in their apartment, police said.

The 33-year-old woman and her young son were asleep inside 80 Clarkson Ave. between Flatbush and Bedford avenues around 3:15 a.m. on June 2 when the bullets flew into their bedroom, according to the NYPD.

The gunshots came from outside where police said an unknown man shot five rounds at a 25-year-old man who had been standing on the sidewalk in front of the building. The suspect did not hit his target and fled westbound toward Flatbush Avenue. No one, including the woman and her son, was injured in the shooting.

The shooting was one in four in the area this week, one of which resulted in an injury.
