WAKEFIELD — Police are searching for two ex-cons nicknamed Platinum and Slim in connection with the fatal shooting of a 55-year-old man in The Bronx.

Victim Lionel Samuel was stopped at a red light in a 2007 Honda with a 54-year-old man about 5:45 a.m. on May 27 when both men were shot by two other men in a white car, police said.

Samuel was shot in the torso, and the 54-year-old man was shot in the leg, police said.

The 54-year-old tried to drive them to the hospital but crashed into a tree around 3970 Bronx Blvd., according to the NYPD.

EMS took both men to Jacobi Hospital, where Samuel was pronounced dead, according to police.

The two suspects in the case are Jonathan "Platinum" Jay, who officers described as a husky man with black hair standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, and Sheldon "Slim" Edmond, police said.

The men were seen driving a 2015 Nissan Altima with the license plate NY HFB7171, according to the NYPD.
