Man Who Punched Woman Walking Her Dog in Chelsea Caught on Video: NYPD

CHELSEA — Police released a video showing the tense moments before a man punched a woman in the face as she was walking her dog in Chelsea last month.

The 52-year-old victim was walking her dog along West 15th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues at about 10 p.m. on May 22, when the man began yelling at her, at one point screaming, "get out of my face," according to a police spokesman.

The suspect then punched the woman in the face, breaking her nose, before fleeing west on West 15th Street, police said.

The victim told NBC New York that the man had been sitting on a stoop and became agitated, telling her to “get that f---ing dog away from me” and throwing a dumpling at her before attacking her.

The woman was treated at the scene and declined to be taken to a hospital, according to police.

Police said the suspect was last seen wearing a jacket, pants, a baseball cap, and sneakers. He can be seen in the video holding what appears to be a Whole Foods bag.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit tips on the website.
