CARROLL GARDENS — A baby shop worker was forced into a bathroom at knifepoint while a robber rummaged through the shop to steal $245, her cellphone and cards Tuesday, sources said.

The 27-year-old woman was alone inside Tiny Brooklyn, a baby shop at 493 Court St., about 12:25 p.m. when the suspect walked in and threatened her with a knife, sources said.

"Follow me and we won't have a problem," he said.

He forced her into a bathroom in the rear of the store and shut her inside, sources said.

He then took $40 from the register and $205 from her purse along with a Samsung cellphone, her bank cards and identification card before fleeing, sources said.

The worker waited in the bathroom for about 30 minutes until she thought he'd left and emerged to call 911, sources said.

Joe DiFiore, a manager of Awaye Realty across from the baby store, said the woman seemed shaken up while talking to investigators.

"Physically, she seemed OK. But mentally, I know she's distraught," he said.

The suspect hadn't been arrested as of Wednesday morning, sources said.

Tiny Brooklyn was shuttered Tuesday evening and staff there didn't answer calls Wednesday morning.

Tiny Brooklyn, which opened in 2013, sells "cute children's clothing you won't find anywhere else," according to its Facebook page.

Neighbors were shocked by the robbery.

"It's very out of character for the neighborhood to have that happen," DiFiore said.
