CRIME BLOTTER: Woman Arrested for Cracking Bus Window With Perfume Bottle

CROWN HEIGHTS — Police arrested a 22-year-old woman in Crown Heights this week for damaging a city bus by throwing a bottle of perfume at its windshield.

The woman was riding the B17 bus on Utica Avenue around 8 a.m. on April 23 when she got into a dispute with a passenger, police said.

The woman then left the bus and threw the glass bottle of perfume at the bus windshield, cracking it and causing about $250 in damage.

Soon afterwards, the woman punched and scratched a 49-year-old man who had seen her throw the perfume. It’s unclear if he was the passenger she had argued with on the bus earlier, police said.

Officers arrested the 22-year-old soon after the incident for assault and criminal mischief.
