CROWN HEIGHTS — Police are investigating an apparent bias assault in the neighborhood this week after a woman invoked Hitler and threw a rock at a Jewish man, sources said.
The 28-year-old victim told police he was standing on the corner of Dean Street and Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights around 1:30 p.m. Thursday when the female suspect approached him, threw a small rock at his shoes and yelled “Hitler should have killed you all.”
The rock hit the man’s steel-toed work boots and he was uninjured, sources said. The woman fled the scene on foot.
The man works as a construction manager at the location, according to a first report about the crime from JPUpdates.
Currently, a large, new residential building, 608 Franklin Ave., is being constructed on that corner. It's unclear if the victim was a worker on that project. The contractors for the building could not immediately be reached for comment.
The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident, the department said.
