THE BRONX — Three men knocked a 62-year-old cyclist unconscious before stealing his cash and his Android cellphone, police said.
The men were on East 220th Street, near Bronx Park East, when the eastbound cyclist rode past about 11:30 p.m. Thursday and they attacked him, an NYPD spokesman said.
Dramatic video of the attack shows the man struggling to get up off the sidewalk as one of the suspect runs up and punches him in the face, knocking him back down.
Two of the attackers can then be seen leaning over him as they take what looks like his wallet before fleeing. A third suspect grabs what looks like a cellphone laying near a discarded shoe and runs away.
The victim told investigators that he doesn't remember what happened after the attack, an NYPD spokesman said.
The spokesman didn't have any information about the victim's injuries.
