CORONA — The Mets will host their first-ever LGBT night at a game in August to help stop bullying in schools.

A portion of the ticket sales to an Aug. 13 game against the San Diego Padres will benefit the LGBT Network and Safe School Initiative, according to the Mets.

Pride Night will be the first time a New York sports team has hosted an event to honor and support LGBT fans, according to the LGBT Network.

The Staten Island Yankees hosted a pride night last year.

Mets officials and members from the nonprofits will make an official announcement at a press conference Tuesday at Queens Borough Hall, along with Borough President Melinda Katz.

The 2016 season for the National League Champion Mets begins Sunday, April 3 when they take on their World Series foes, the Royals, in Kansas City.

Opening day at Citi Field is April 8, when they play the Philadelphia Phillies.
