New York Fashion Week kicks off its biannual strut around the city Thursday, and we don't envy the fashionistas who'll be trudging through the soon-to-arrive slush in the shoe of the season (the Gucci loafer slide).

The event will operate out of three base camps in Manhattan: Skylight at Moynihan Station, at 360 West 33rd Street, MADE at Milk Studios, at 450 West 15th Street, and Skylight Clarkson Square, at 550 Washington Street.

But fall 2016 runway shows, following a trend accelerated by the end of Fashion Week's five-year run in Lincoln Center, are scheduled to take place all over lower Manhattan, as well as in one bar in Brooklyn, and in a museum in Queens. By our count, Fashion Week designers have tapped 13 locations they didn't use the last time around, in September. Many still have yet to announce where they'll be presenting their selections for this season, according to The Cut's Fashion Week Calendar.

As our map below indicates, shows will largely be concentrated in Chelsea and the West Village. Flock there if the fancy plumage on display fascinates you; keep your distance if it repulses you.
