Don't retire your snow boots for the week just yet — you'll need them for the War on Puddles.

WEATHER: With temperatures expected to hit a high of 43 degrees, you can only expect those moats on street corners to grow. (If you're lucky, your local bodega will have installed a bridge of plastic milk crates for you, like this one in Bay Ridge).

While navigating curbside straits, keep at least one hand on your beanie, as winds are expected hit 32 mph Wednesday.

On the bright side, Accuweather's forecast says the sun will peek out now and then between clouds during the daylight hours.

At night, take heed of icy patches, as temperatures are set to drop to 23 degrees. This could be the week you invest in crampons?

SUBWAYS: At the time of publication, only the southbound 6 train is posing commuters problems. Signal problems at the Bleecker Street stop means delays.

Check with the MTA for updates.

In the interest of cautious optimism, we give today a Misery Index of 5.
