MANHATTAN — A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on the FDR Drive early Friday morning, police said.

The 29-year-old man was either standing or attempting to cross the FDR Drive, near East 28th Street, when he was hit by a dark gray vehicle at about 1:05 a.m., the NYPD said.

The driver of the car continued north on the FDR drive, police said.

EMS workers found the man on the roadway with head trauma and took him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police have not released the identity of the victim and an investigation is ongoing.
