UPPER WEST SIDE — A host of smaller fitness boutiques and workout studios opened in the neighborhood this year, offering everything from CrossFit classes to pay-what-you-can yoga sessions.
For those looking to create some momentum with their New Year's resolutions, we've rounded up the notable spots that opened in 2015.
SLT on Columbus Avenue
580 Columbus Ave. at West 88th Street
SLT — short for strengthen, lengthen and tone — mixes Pilates and cardio for exercisers looking for the most bang for their buck, the studio said.
SLT is opening its 10th studio early next month, with "sneak preview" classes starting on Jan. 8. Classes are $40 each.
CrossFit SPOT in Lincoln Square
55 Amsterdam Ave. at West 62nd Street
CrossFit SPOT offers classes for everyone from kids as young as 5 to adults in a basement-level gym that opened in mid-September. The site also offers one-on-one coaching.
There's a $40 drop-in rate for classes, and a monthly membership for unlimited classes costs $329.
