UPPER WEST SIDE — All-inclusive yoga chain Yoga to the People is opening its newest outpost on the Upper West Side, the company confirmed.
The new branch of the donation-based studio would be coming to 2710 Broadway above the CityMD, the company said, only adding that the location will open "very soon."
The chain, which debuted in the East Village in 2005 and has five New York City locations, operates under a suggested-donation policy of $5 or $10 for its classes. It has since expanded to San Francisco, Berkeley, Seattle and Tempe, Ariz.
In November 2011, DNAinfo reported that the chain was being sued by Bikram Choudhury, the creator of Bikram Yoga, for "stealing" his poses.
Yoga to the People founder Greg Gumucio announced in late 2012 that he had reached a settlement with Choudhury.
