THE BRONX — A 67-year-old man was struck and killed early Friday as he tried to cross the Major Deegan Expressway, police said.

Bobby Cuwer, of The Bronx, was attempting to walk across the multi-lane highway at 233rd Street at 4:20 a.m. on Christmas, police said.

He was struck first in the center lane and then in the left lane by two separate drivers, according to the NYPD. Both cars fled the scene.

Cuwer was taken to Montefiore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The NYPD is still investigating the incident.
