ROCKAWAY PARK — The site of a long-vacant restaurant steps from the beach has been sold for $5 million, city records show.

The lot at 129 Beach 116th St. was bought by a newly-formed company, Beach 116 Associates LLC, on Dec. 8.

The company is affiliated with the Marcal Group, a Brooklyn-based developer, according to state LLC records. They could not be reached for comment.

The 12,600-square-foot space was listed by the Malachite Group, who boasted about its proximity to beach, ample parking and public transportation.

The Beach Club was a popular restaurant and catering hall that closed more than five years ago, and has been vacant ever since.

It's zoned R7-A, which allows apartment buildings of up to eight stories.
