JACKSON HEIGHTS — The neighborhood's orchestra is opening its winter season this week with a concert.

The Jackson Heights Orchestra will perform its first show of the winter season 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, on 34th Avenue and 82nd Street.

Violinist Kinga Augustyn will perform Bach's Concerto in A while P Kellach Waddle is premiering his original piece, "Thou Bring Me Your Coffee and Diamonds."

There will also be holiday songs and it's suitable for the entire family, according to artistic director and founder Patricia Glunt.

The show is free, with a suggested donation of $10 and $5 for seniors and students. Guests are also encouraged to bring items for the church's food pantry.
