CROWN HEIGHTS — Five teens were arrested this week after they stole a cellphone from a 15-year-old and then attacked a man who tried to intervene, cutting his face and smashing the windshield of his car, police said.

The group confronted their 15-year-old victim outside of 964 Eastern Parkway near Troy Avenue in Crown Heights around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, snatching his Samsung Galaxy S3 cellphone.

As this went on, a 21-year-old man tried to step in on the robbery, police said, and was assaulted by three of the five teens, who cut a gash above his right eye with a knife and smashed his car’s front window with a baseball bat.

All five teens, ages 15 to 18, were later arrested and charged, police said.

The 21-year old man was treated at a local hospital for his wounds, receiving four stitches on the cut above his eye.
