CROWN HEIGHTS - A man was charged Wednesday with the Sept. 4 murder of Christopher Burgin, 29, in Crown Heights, police say.
Brownsville resident Moeleek Harrell, 25, was arrested by police officers in front of the Queens Criminal Court on Monday and brought to the 77th Precinct.
Harrell shot Burgin several times in the torso in front of 1308 Prospect Place at 12:12 a.m. on Sept. 4, police said.
This is the second time this year Harrell has been charged with murder. In March, Harrell and an accomplice were charged with the deadly January shooting of a man at a Queens gas station, according to police.
Harrell was held in jail until April 15, when he was released, according to the Queens District Attorney's office. Harrell's release was related to unspecified "issues" that arose in connection with the investigation into the January murder case, the Queens DA office said.
