BROOKLYN — Two Brownsville men were arrested Sunday, nearly two months after they fatally shot a man in broad daylight at a Richmond Hill gas station, police said.

Charles Williams, 26, and Moeleek Harrell, 25, gunned down Derek Quattlebaum, 28, as he pumped gas at a station near the Van Wyck Expressway and Atlantic Avenue about 3 p.m. on Jan. 20, police said.

Williams and Harrell were arrested on Sunday evening and charged with murder and weapons possession, police said. A witness identified the two men out of a series of photos, NYPD officials said.

Surveillance footage from the shooting shows the two men darting across the gas station parking lot and fleeing the scene in an Audi A6 sedan with Vermont plates, police said.

Quattlebaum was shot in the head, torso and limbs and pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, police said.

Both of the shooters and the victim have lengthy rap sheets, NYPD officials said. Williams had six prior arrests including two robbery charges. Harrell has been arrested 11 times with robbery and weapons possession charges.

Lawyers for Williams and Harrell could not immediately be reached for comment.

Quattlebaum, also from Brownsville, had an extensive rap sheet with 15 arrests, most of them sealed, police said.

Quattlebaum was arrested last November in Brooklyn and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, court records show.

He opened fire on two people he was chasing through Clinton Hill about 2 p.m. on Nov. 12, according to the criminal complaint against him.
