THE BRONX — A baby boy died after rolling off the couch and hitting his head on Friday, according to the NYPD.

The father of the 4-month-old, whose name was not released, left the infant on a pillow on the couch after feeding him then walked away around 12:30 p.m. at his home at 1400 Pelham Parkway in Pelham Gardens, police said.

The infant was rushed to the Einstein Hospital with head trauma and injuries on his body. He was later transferred to Jacobi Hospital, but soon died, according to authorities.

The father was not charged in the baby's death but the investigation is ongoing, police said.
