CROWN HEIGHTS — A 14-year-old boy was arrested this week for pistol-whipping and robbing a pizza delivery man in Crown Heights, police said.
The 32-year-old worker took a pizza to an apartment building at 1651 Carroll St. near Utica Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, officials said. In the lobby, the 14-year-old approached the man, threatened him with a gun, struck him multiple times around the head with it and stole $49, authorities said.
The teen was arrested later that day when the delivery man identified him to police.
The unidentified 14-year-old lives in the building where the assault took place, police said, but it’s unclear whether he had placed the order that brought the man to the Carroll Street lobby.
The teen will be prosecuted as a juvenile on charges of first-degree robbery, which carries a penalty of three-and-a-half to ten years behind bars, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney's office.
