NEPONSIT — A man was shot in the foot during an altercation inside the parking lot at Riis Park late Monday night, at least the sixth shooting on the peninsula in four days, police said.

A 33-year-old man said he saw two teens near his car, which was parked in the lot at Riis Park, on June 23 at 11:50 p.m., police said.

He confronted the group and one man shot at him three times, hitting him once in the left foot, according to the NYPD.

The victim arrived without an ambulance at Kings County Hospital, which is more than eight miles away, later that night, police said. It's not clear if he was driven by another person or if he drove himself, they said.

The massive parking lot at Riis Park — which was used to store garbage for months after Hurricane Sandy — is officially open for beach-goers from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., with a cost of $10 per car, per day.

The lot is not blocked off at night.

Shootings surged on the 100th and 101st precincts, which cover the entire Rockaway peninsula, during the first weekend of summer, police said.

There were at least six shooting incidents over the weekend, including one that prompted a manhunt with hundreds of officers Sunday night.
