GREENWICH VILLAGE — See something, say something.

A man sleeping on a northbound A train with a loaded gun was arrested by police after a fellow straphanger noticed his weapon and alerted authorities, officials said.

Police said Kenneth Mcintosh, 27, was sleeping on a northbound A train about 8:47 a.m. on March 14 when a passenger sitting next to him noticed he had a gun.

The train was held in the station at West Fourth Street, police said, and when officers arrived, the train operator pointed out Mcintosh, who was walking away from the train wearing a black jacket with a red and white stripe.

Police officers followed Mcintosh down the platform with their guns drawn and shouted, "Police, don't move, get on the ground," police said.

Mcintosh knelt on the ground and was arrested, police said. A loaded black .40 caliber Glock fell out of Mcintosh's waistband, police said.

Police said the serial number of the gun had been scratched off. They patted Mcintosh down and found two cell phones and two Metrocards, police said.

Mcintosh was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

A judge set his bail at $50,000 bond or $35,000 cash, which he did not post. Mcintosh's attorney declined to comment.

Other notable incidents in the 6th Precinct include:

► A man on Waverly Place stole his neighbor's newly delivered rugs, then surreptitiously returned them, police said.

Police said Wesley Murphy, 35, stole two rugs that were delivered to 190 Waverly Place on March 4 about 3:30 p.m.

Police said his 31-year-old female neighbor received an email notification that the rugs had been left in the lobby, but when she got home they were nowhere to be found.

One rug was woven and cost $1,509, police said. The other was hand-knitted and cost $1,989, for a combined total of $3,498.

Officers went door-to-door questioning the woman's neighbors and when they talked to Murphy, he gave no indication that he knew anything about the rugs, police said.

A couple days later, police said, the rugs reappeared in the hallway. Murphy confessed to taking them when he was questioned a few days later about another incident, police said.

Police said Murphy told them he put the rugs in his apartment because he thought they were being thrown out.

Murphy was arrested for grand larceny in the third degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree. He is due back in court on June 8. His attorney did not immediately respond to a message left for comment.
