RED HOOK — Bike aficionados can pedal on over to Red Hook Sunday for the New York Bike Jumble.

New York City’s only bicycle flea market will run until 4:00 p.m. at Erie Basin Park (off of Beard Street behind Ikea) and is done in conjunction with Transportation Alternatives’ Tour de Brooklyn.

About 50 vendors from all over the East Coast will sell new and used bicycles and accessories at the event, and general public will have the opportunity to scoop up inexpensive ‘beater’ bikes as well as vintage racing and collectible bicycles that they can test ride before buying.

“All sorts of people come to our event,” said organizer Isaac Schell. “Bike shops liquidating their inventory sell normal stock for cheaper, and we also have vintage nerds looking for rare parts they can’t find anywhere else. It’s great because you never know what you’ll find at the swap.”

Today’s Jumble at Erie Basin Park is the second in a series of three annual events; a Fall Jumble will be held in Park Slope at a date that is TBA.
