Weekend Service Changes Will Affect 14 Subway Lines

NEW YORK CITY — Several subway lines will experience service disruptions this weekend due to construction, according to the MTA.

Here is the breakdown of service changes:

1 Line: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday 1 trains will be suspended in both directions between 96 St and Van Cortlandt Park-242 St due to brick arch repair work at 168 St and 181 St, and repair work around 125 St. As an alternative take AC trains or M3 and free shuttle buses.

2 Line: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday 2 trains will not run in either direction between Franklin Ave and Flatbush Ave-Brooklyn College due to switch renewal north of Nostrand Av. Free shuttle buses will provide coverage for disrupted service, making all subway stops between Franklin Av and Flatbush Ave-Brooklyn College.

3 Line: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday 3 trains are out of commission in both directions due to switch renewal north of Nostrand Ave. As an alternative, use 2 trains and free shuttle buses. In Brooklyn, free shuttle buses will operate between Franklin Ave and New Lots Ave. Transfer is available between 2 trains and free shuttle buses at Franklin Ave. In Harlem, free shuttle buses will service 135 St, 145 St, and 148 St, and transfer is available between 2 trains and shuttle buses at 135 St.

4 Line: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday northbound and southbound 4 trains are not running between Atlantic Ave-Barclays Ctr and New Lots Ave also due to switch renewal north of Nostrand Ave. 2 trains and free shuttle buses will provide alternative service, and transfer between 2 trains and free shuttle buses will be available at Franklin Ave.

7 Line: From 2:00 a.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday 7 trains are suspended between Times Square-42 St and 74 St-Broadway in both directions due to track panel installation north of 69 St. E, F, N, R, S and free shuttle buses provide alternate service. Shuttle buses will operate between Vernon Blvd-Jackson Ave and Queensboro Plaza stopping at Queensboro Plaza, Queens Plaza, Court Square, Hunters Point Ave and Vernon Blvd-Jackson Ave, and between Queensboro Plaza and 74 St-Broadway stopping at 33 St, 40 St, 46 St, 52 St, Woodside-61 St, and 69 St.

A Line: The A Line will be affected until August 2014, with Far Rockaway/Lefferts Blvd-bound A trains skipping 88 St, and Lefferts Blvd-bound A trains skipping 104 St due to station renewals at 88 St and 104 St.
For service to/from 88 St: To 88 St, take the A to Rockaway Blvd and transfer to  Brooklyn-bound A. From 88 St, take a Brooklyn-bound A to 80 St and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Blvd-bound A.
For service to/from 104 St: To 104 St, take the Lefferts Blvd-bound A to Lefferts Blvd and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A. From 104 St, take the Q112 bus, or take the A to Rockaway Blvd and transfer to a Lefferts Blvd-bound A train.

A Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:00 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, Inwood-207 St-bound A trains will run express from Canal St to 125 St due to track tie and track plate renewal at 59 St-Columbus Circle.

C Line: From 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday 168 St-bound C trains will run express from Canal St to 125 St due to the track tie and plate renewal at 59 St-Columbus Circle.

E Line: From 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday E trains will run with increased frequency between Manhattan and Queens due to duct bank work north of Times Square-42 St, and track panel installation north of 69 St on the 7 line.

F Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to Monday Coney Island Stilwell Av-bound F trains will skip Sutphin Blvd, Briarwood-Van Wyck Blvd, and 75 Av stops due to rail work south of Parsons Blvd.

F Line: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to Monday Coney Island Stilwell Av-bound F trains will run express between Jay St-Metro Tech and Church Av due to signal work at Church Av.

G Line: From 11:00 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday G train service will be suspended between Church Av and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets due to Church Av signal work.

Q Line: At all times throughout early summer, Coney Island-bound Q trains will skip Parkside Ave, Beverley Rd, and Cortelyou Rd due to upgrades on station platforms at Parkside Av, Beverley Rd, and Cortelyou Rd.

S Line: From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 6:00 a.m. Monday, due to work on the 7 line, the 42 St Shuttle will operate overnight.

N R Lines: Montague Street Tubes will remain closed until October, 2014. N and R train service remains suspended between Court Street in Brooklyn and Whitehall Street in Manhattan. Late night N and weekend R trains are rerouted over the Manhattan Bridge. There are no N or R trains in either direction at Jay Street-Metro Tech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortlandt Street and City Hall. Late night R shuttle service in Brooklyn is unaffected.
