THE BRONX — A man was fatally shot in the Edenwald Houses Sunday night and his brother, who brought him to the hospital, was being questioned, a police spokesman said.

Andre Hanson, 26, was inside the housing complex at 1155 East 225 St., near Laconia Avenue, when he was shot in the torso about 4:40 p.m. and then rushed by his brother, whose name and age were not released, to Montefiore hospital, the NYPD said.

Hanson was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

Investigators, who were still piecing together the sequence of events leading up to the shooting, were questioning Hanson's brother Monday morning, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police responded to the Edenwald Houses and recovered a semi-automatic gun, but were still trying to determine if it was the one that was used to shoot Hanson, the spokesman said.
