NEW YORK CITY — A burglar forced his way into a Wakefield deli and then tore through a wall separating it from a nail salon to steal about $2,000 from the shops, cops said.

The burglar broke into the Wakefield Deli and Grocery at 4008 Bronxwood Ave. between 2:30 and 4:30 a.m. on March 30, according to the NYPD.

Once inside, he bore through a wall separating the deli from the Beauty and Nail Salon next-door, a police spokesman said.

He fled the scene with a red bag bursting with about $2,000 from the stores, cops said.

Police described the suspect as a 25-to-37-year-old man, 5-foot-10, last seen wearing black sneakers and a black jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
