ALLERTON — A 28-year-old Bronx man was found dead of a gunshot wound in the throat on Sunday morning, police said.

Police responding to a 911 call of an unconscious man at 12:13 a.m. found Craig Brewington, 28, dead with a gun wound to his throat, inside a Barker Avenue building near Arnow Avenue, cops said.

Brewington, of Bronx Park South in West Farms, was non-responsive, and rescuers declared him dead at the scene, police said.

According to the NY Post, relatives said Brewington had stopped by the 2857 Barker Ave. building to collect money from a friend, eating dinner with his nearly 2-year-old daughter and a female friend.

The little girl and his friend were parked outside waiting for him to emerge, the victim's mother, Renee Brewington, 45, told the Post. "He never came back out," she said to the paper.

"They waited and waited. I don't know who would want to do this to him," she added.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
