FLATIRON — A man was struck by an uptown 6 train at 23rd Street Monday afternoon, causing service changes on the 4, 5 and 6 lines, officials said.

The man, who was hit just before 3 p.m., was pulled from beneath the train car and was rushed to New York Downtown Hospital in unknown condition, the FDNY said.

It was not immediately clear how the man wound up on the tracks, officials said.

Uptown 4, 5 and 6 trains were skipping the 23rd Street station following the incident, the MTA said. Because of an unrelated switch problem at the Astor Place station, uptown 4, 5 and 6 trains were running on the local track between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and Grand Central-42nd Street, according to the MTA's website.

The MTA advised riders to expect delays on the 4, 5 and 6 lines.
