By Julie Shapiro | December 6, 2012 9:41pm

THE BRONX — Police are looking for a robber accused of striking four times in the past week — always near the intersection of White Plains Road and East Gun Hill Road.

The suspect tends to pick on elderly women and usually steals cash, police said.

In the first incident, about 11:30 a.m. Dec. 3, the suspect grabbed an 89-year-old woman's purse and fled with money, police said.

He struck again at 3 p.m. that day, following a 68-year-old woman as she left a post office and then knocking her to the ground and stealing her purse in front of 830 Magenta St., the NYPD said.

The following day, Dec. 4, the suspect is accused of following a 78-year-old woman as she left a check-cashing store. The suspect tailed the victim into her building's elevator, grabbed her wrist and snatched cash and a money order from her pocket, police said.

Finally, at 4:50 p.m. Dec. 5, the suspect is accused of following a 60-year-old woman out of a check-cashing store and yanking an envelope of cash from her pocket, the NYPD said.

Police described the suspect as a heavyset 30-to-45-year-old man, last seen wearing a dark jacket and a black hat.
