RED HOOK — Brooklyn residents still without heat or power from Hurricane Sandy can warm-up or charge their devices in Red Hook Thursday during Thanksgiving.
Nelson Chin, an operations administrator at New York University and a volunteer with PortSide New York's maritime museum in Red Hook, is opening the storefront at 351 Van Brunt St. to the public.
"My Thanksgiving plans have been messed up from Sandy, so I have the time," Chin said. "I figured this would help somebody."
The space, a joint art gallery and Realty Collective office, became an aid center after the super-storm struck Oct. 29.
It will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
