NEW YORK CITY — As New Yorkers struggle to get their lives back to normal after Hurricane Sandy, DNAinfo.com New York is keeping track of the constant changes affecting travel throughout the five-boroughs.
MASS TRANSIT
Closed:
- MTA subway service.
- PATH trains
- New Jersey Transit
- Staten Island Ferry
Open:
- MTA buses are running, but riders reported delays and overcrowding. Riders do not pay to ride.
- Hudson River ferry service from New Jersey to the World Financial Center
- LIRR and Metro-North limited service at 2 p.m. Wednesday
AIRPORTS
The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey urges passengers to contact their airlines before heading to the airports to make sure flights are still scheduled. Terminals have limited food and concessions and passengers should plan accordingly.
Closed:
- LaGuardia Airport remains closed due to flooding.
Open:
- Newark Airport
- John F. Kennedy airport is expected to return to limited service Wednesday afternoon. AirTrain remains out of service, but the Port Authority is operating buses to serve all airline terminals and bus stops, including Jamaica and Howard Beach stations. Parking lots have many spaces available.

- FDR Drive northbound from the Battery to Dyckman Street and southbound from East 125th Street to the Brooklyn Bridge.
