OLINVILLE — Cops are asking for the public's help in tracking down two suspects wanted in the robbery of a livery cab driver last week.

The suspects hailed the cab in Hunts Point on August 25 at 6:20 p.m. and allegedly assaulted the driver when they reached their destination at Duncomb and Barker avenues. Police said the suspects then placed the driver in a chokehold and threatened him with a hammer.

They then removed the driver from his vehicle and sped off, police said.

The suspects are described as being about 5-feet-6-inches and were last seen wearing baseball caps with blue jeans. They are believed to be in their 30s or 40s.

Anyone with information in regards to this robbery is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
