CORONA — Police charged a Woodside man and two others in connection with the Sunday morning stabbing that left a 20-year-old man dead and a 23-year-old man injured outside a bar in Corona, the NYPD said.
Jesus Astimbay, 27, was charged with manslaughter, gang assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to cops.
His alleged accomplices, Juana Guanaquesa, 26, of East Elmhurst, and John Espinoza, 17, of Astoria, were each charged with gang assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The gang assault charges pertain to the number of people involved in the attack not to known gang affiliations, a police source explained.
None of the men has been previously arrested and a knife was recovered nearby.
The incident unfolded just before 4:30 a.m., when an argument outside Manila Bar and Restaurant on Roosevelt Avenue and 104th Street turned violent.
The 20-year-old man, who has not been identified, was stabbed twice in the chest. He was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died.
The 23-year-old, stabbed in the back and chest, was also taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.
It was unclear what led to the confrontation.
