Suspects Rob, Pistol-Whip Man in Bronx Apartment

THE BRONX — Police are searching for three men who robbed and pistol-whipped a 22-year-old man in his Eastchester apartment last month, the NYPD said.

The May 17 alleged robbery began about 6:30 p.m., when the victim left his apartment to allow someone into the building, police said. While he was gone, two of the suspects entered his residence and began stealing computer equipment and cash, they said.

The victim, however, returned before the suspects left his apartment. They hit him in the head with a firearm and fled the scene, police said.

The man was taken to Montefiore Hospital, where he was treated for a head injury, the NYPD added.

The man who asked to be let into the apartment building was an accomplice to the robbery, police determined. All three suspects were described as tall and apparently in their 20s. One was also said to have a large build.

Surveillance video recorded two of the men entering the building's elevator.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspects' whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477). Members of the public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers websites at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting tips to CRIMES (274637), then entering TIP577.
