DOWNTOWN — A motorcyclist was injured after crashing his bike on the FDR Drive near the Brooklyn Bridge Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The 46-year-old was driving in the northbound lane of the FDR Drive just past the exit for the bridge when he crashed into a median a little after 4 p.m., leaving him bleeding from the head, police and fire sources said.

He was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition about 4:30 p.m., with head trauma and injuries to his fingers, police said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
