MIDTOWN WEST — Olympic medalists and star athletes will be joined by New York's Finest and Bravest Friday evening at the annual Millrose Games, Madison Square Garden's annual track and field competition.

Firefighters and police officers will race in a 4X1 lap relay to determine "New York's Fastest." The winner gets bragging rights and a $5,000 donation to either the Police Athletic League or the FDNY Foundation.

"The FDNY is thrilled to be competing in this year's Millrose Games,” said FDNY Lt. Pete Critsimilios in a statement. "We look forward to a spirited competition with the NYPD."

The NYPD also seemed fairly confident about the races, set to begin at 7:55 p.m. on Friday.

"We look forward to the opportunity to prove that the NYPD is not only NYC’s Finest but also NYC’s Fastest," President of the NYPD Running Club and Retired Sergeant Tom Biggers said.

Other races at the 104th Millrose Games include the men and women's 600 yards, 400 meters and 1,500 meters. Vaulting wil also be highlighted, and children will race as part of a junior competition.

This year's lineup includes a slew of star-studded names, including Olympic gold medalists Natasha Hastings, Dee Dee Trotter and Moushaumi Robinson.
